What is dump truck
Dump trucks are vehicles that unload goods themselves using hydraulic or mechanical lifting. They are also known as tipper trucks. They consist of a truck chassis, a hydraulic lifting mechanism, a cargo box, and a power take-off (PTO).
Dump truck cargo boxes are available in two types: rear-tipping and side-tipping. The movement of a piston rod is controlled by a control system. Rear-tipping is more common; pushing the piston rod tilts the cargo box. A few models feature bi-directional tipping. In civil engineering, dump trucks are frequently used in conjunction with excavators, loaders, belt conveyors, and other construction machinery to form loading, transport, and unloading production lines for earthwork, sand, gravel, and bulk materials.
